Rev. Debbie Roi Send Mail
Debbie came to this pastoral charge in October 2016, having most recently served in team ministry at Parkdale United Church as the Pastoral Care Minister. Debbie brings with her 9 years of experience in ministry, having also served the Pakenham Pastoral Charge and covered an appointment position at Trinity St. Andrew’s in Renfrew.
Debbie lives in Almonte with her husband John, and her four legged friends. Her 3 adult children live in the surrounding area and Debbie is looking forward to being a grandmother in 2017.
Before responding to a call to ministry, Debbie enjoyed a career in occupational therapy. This career allowed her to work in a variety of settings including, General Hospitals in Orillia, Peterborough and Ottawa, the Oak Ridge Facility in Penetanguishene, and she worked with the Home Care Program. This was a fulfilling vocation however the call to ministry persisted, and so Debbie began her Masters of Divinity Program in 2003 at Queens Theological College.
While at Queens Debbie had an opportunity to participate in trip to Nicaragua where she met with our partners supported by our Mission and Service Fund. This was a trip she will never forget and one that she hopes to someday make again.
Debbie completed her internship at both Britannia United church and the Queensway Carleton Hospital where she served as chaplain with the perinatal bereavement team.
Debbie is delighted to be back in a small town and looks forward to sharing in the joy of ministry in both Carp and Dunrobin.
Debbie is in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. You are most welcome to drop by or to call to schedule an appointment.
